REMINDER: In Game Names

Post by liquidburn » November 22nd, 2010, 8:59 am

This is a friendly reminder to all CC members regarding in-game names.

This is directly from the membership rules:
Spoiler! :
Name Changes
Christian Crew Gaming members are allowed only one name change. This is to minimize the amount of confusion that could be caused from people constantly changing their names. If you wish to change your name, post a new thread on the forums stating the new username you wish to use, and why.

CC Tags
All Christian Crew Gaming members are required to wear their tags when in The FISH servers. Only members that have received email confirmation can wear our clan tag.

Names Must Be Seen
Members are not allowed to change their names on the servers. Variations may be made; however, your “usual” name must be clearly seen.

I have been receiving complaints regarding members not using their correct names in CC servers. This is ultimately causing problems between members, which is why CC has (for a very long time) required people to use their "usual" name.

question, should an admin (me) warn for overuse of symbols or leetspeak?
Examples:
Noname = |\|0|\|4/\/\3
Noname = Иøᾔ@με
Noname = ǝɯɐuoN
You get the point.

The general rule is: If someone can look at your name and tell it's you, then it's fine.

All of your examples are fine.

I didn't get example #2 for a bit. O.o

If someone goes too nuts with symbols and such they should not be surprised when questioned about it. If I were told that it was noname, then I could see it.

What if I were to transcribe the letters of my name into a different alphabet? for example, Greek:
Goatman = Γοατμαν

No.

@ProSimm: Simm is probably close enough that you would be recognizable.

I would say Simm would be enough. right now I have M&M (its my nickname) but I also just keep Mickey behind just to make sure theres no confusion...
