Bad Image Errors

Post by Maverick » August 4th, 2016, 6:50 pm

So since August 29th, I have been encountering lots of errors with my computer, and it has been acting irregular. At one point last weekend it was stuck in a boot loop and not responding to anything. After going into safemode and removing a broken file/driver, I have been able to boot into Windows and its somewhat functional.
Now I am getting lots of errors when I attempt to run programs, and when I log into Windows it is common for me to load a blank screen and wait for 2-5 minutes before my desktop appears. I get a variety of errors but many look like this
C:\WINDOWS\system32\wpdshext.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact you system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error Status 0xc0000020

Uninstalling programs and reinstalling them does not fix the problem.

When I run SFC I get the following error
Windows resource protection could not perform the requested operation
I've tried several thing to resolve the SFC errors with no luck, so I'm kinda stuck.

Let me know if any of you have some suggestions.

Thanks!

Thank you guys for your help! I have made progress. The errors are now gone, and I was finally able to install a Windows Update without it crashing. Everything seems to be running normal except when I try to access my network settings.
The computer immediately crashes. I am connected to Ethernet, but my computer does have a wifi adapter. When I go to view wifi connections, none are there, and then the computer crashes. I have gone through windows trouble shooting and even more command prompt commands. Nothing has changed.

Let me know if you guys find anything. Ill keep looking.

Open a run prompt and run compmgmt.MSc, click devices, find your wifi adapter and uninstall it. Then go to actions and scan for new hardware.

All right! Thank you for replies, they were very helpful. I no longer have any errors, and my computer is no longer crashing randomly. My adapter still does not find any networks, but I am always connected to LAN anyways. Maybe the adapter really is broken, it is over 6 years old.
Thanks again for all your help!
