TF2 General FAQ

Post by DeadlierD » August 6th, 2013, 1:30 am

What is Team Fortress 2?
Spoiler! :
TF2 is a class-based first-person shooter. You pick one of nine distinct classes and you're off to capture intelligence, deliver bombs, control territory, and more.

Where is the CCGaming's server?
Spoiler! :
Our Stock Server's IP address (The Fish Server) is 172.86.182.214:27015

What are the Server's rules?
Spoiler! :
* Do NOT be disrespectful to Admins.
* Do NOT bash or mock our faith. Anyone is welcome to play on our server regardless what you believe personally, but please follow our Server Rules.
* No profanity (including abbreviated words or derogatory remarks).
* No vulgar or inappropriate names (including profanity and drug/alcohol references).
* No spawn camping. You can kill at spawn but then leave. Give them a chance to get out.
* No cheating and/or hacking. If you suspect someone is... talk directly to the admins via team chat - just put @ at the beginning of your message.
* No exploiting maps.
* No ghosting.
* Do NOT team stack (Keep teams balanced). Admins have the right to balance teams. Please help them make the game more fun for everyone.
* Do NOT Text spam, Music spam the Mic, or Scream in the Mic. Try to keep majority of the talk game related.
* Trading is welcome on the Server but don't constantly beg players for items or pressure them to trade with you. Also, don't sit in spawn the entire game doing trades while your Team suffers the loss of a player. Please go to spectate for extended trading.
* No recruiting for external clans.
* Disruptive players will be dealt with by Admins as they see fit.
* Admins have the right to make the game fun for everyone. This includes making decisions that may not be listed in this MOTD. If you disagree with an Admin's decision DO NOT argue with them, take your concerns to our forum.
* Do not start a controversial religious debate with the intention of disruption. Please visit the Christian Crew Gaming Forums or TeamSpeak to debate. Questions are always welcome.
* ONLY members who have received email conformation can wear our †<CC>< tag.
* Basically, Keep it Clean and Fun for Everyone there! God Bless!

Someone on the server was causing trouble and needs to be banned. What do I do?
Spoiler! :
Simply submit a ban. We'll take a look and get back to you if we have any questions.

I got banned and want to protest. What do I do?
Spoiler! :
Simply go to this page and fill out the forum. Please be as descriptive as possible and remember, tell the truth. If you're caught in a lie it's very unlikely that you'll be unbanned.
NOTE: If you're ban is 24 hours or less then don't bother filling out a forum. It's more than likely that your ban will have expired before we come to an agreement.

Where can I find other TF2 regulars?
Spoiler! :
We post regular Updates and Events in the Team Fortress 2 Topics Section of the Forums. We also have a Steam group that can help you. It's a group created specifically for CC's TF2 server regulars. Updates and Event Announcements are also posted on there.

I want to ask a TF2 related question. Who do I contact?
Spoiler! :
For most questions, this forum section is the best place to ask. Members and staff are always happy to answer questions. For more private matters, you can contact Good Ole Bill Door or PeekABoo.

Good Ole Bill Door has put a lot of effort into getting our Fish Server up and ready for players to enjoy! As part of your introduction to Team Fortress 2 and The Fish Server, he has spelled out for everyone the list and variety of Maps available on the Server. Some servers only run one Map 24/7 but The Fish Server has a wide variety of Maps to vote to play. You, as a Player on The Fish Server, have a say in what Maps are played while you're on. Check out the info below!
Good Ole Bill wrote:In an effort to increase server traffic, emphasis will be placed on official Valve maps so that we can advertise the server as being 'stock'. With the release of the MyM patch, there is a lack of servers that run a stock rotation (like Valve servers used to) so the goal will be to help fill this void and draw in players. Changes to the available maps will be posted here and noted in the changelog below. I welcome any suggestions anyone may have and you can also provide input through the community surveys posted periodically.

Map Vote Commands

* There are 2 commands available to players for controlling what maps are played:

!nominate - This command brings up a menu of all maps available for play on the server, including maps from the default and custom map lists. Nominating a map will place that map on the next vote for the next map played. You can type the name of the map after the nominate command to skip the menu (ex. !nominate pl_upward).

!rtv - This command will early map voting for the next map played. A successful rock the vote requires 60% of the total number of players on the server to use the !rtv command. This is handy for when maps are locked into stalemates.

  • added quickplay-disabled official maps to default rotation (ex. suijin, borneo, etc.)

THE FISH SERVER Image

Server IP Address: 172.86.182.214:27015

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We have been making some updates to the Fish Server! Our Tech Support has been hard at work to make some Awesome Changes for us, so I wanted to update the info. on options available to our players now. We hope you enjoy them!

We Now have Halloween Mode activated all the time! :ninja: Yes, you can wear your favorite Halloween Items Year Round instead of waiting for the next Full Moon or Halloween Event! :jippy:

Also, there are now 4 COMMANDS AVAILABLE TO PLAYERS on the Fish Server where there used to be 2.

* !nominate - This Command brings up a menu of All Maps available for play on the server, including maps from the default and custom map lists. Nominating a map will place that map on the next vote for the next map played. You can type the name of the map after the nominate command to skip the menu (ex. !nominate pl_upward).

* !rtv - This Command will early Map Voting for the next map played. A successful rock the vote requires 60% of the total number of players on the server to use the !rtv command. This is handy for when maps are locked into stalemates.

* !motd - This Command will bring up the display of the expected Server Rules. If you have any question if something is permissible for the Server or not... check it out for yourself! :D

* !votescramble - This Command brings up a vote option for a possible Team Scramble if you feel the Teams are largely unbalanced.
