Day 2:

Choose Your Own Adventure!

Unlike previous campaigns, all of your missions will be available at the start, with a branching system allowing you to take on what you want! The campaign pass will also do the following:

1. Give you an in-game cosmetic based on the campaign tracker. Most likely functions like those Soul Gargoyles, except it's wearable.

2. Allow you to earn "Blood Money" or campaign-exclusive tickets that can be redeemed in a campaign-exclusive shop.

3. War Paints will be purchasable, alongside War Paint Cases. These are basically skins you can apply to nearly 40 of the game's weapons and can come in Strange or Unusual variants from the cases.

4. Add at least 5 new cosmetics, the "Dragon Slayer" War Paint, and War Paint variants of previously-released weapon skins to the list of items that can drop based off of contract completion.

The new Pyro Primary is also shown off at the bottom of the page. No stats, no other info. It's just shown.

Day 3 Came Early! Long Story Short have some new Pyro Weapons!

They Include the Dragon's Fury, The Thermal Thruster, The Gas Passer and the Hot Hand.

All will be locked behind a free contract system for now.

Heavy got Second Banana. Literally.

After playing a few times on the Updated Gameplay, what does everyone think? Was it worth all the wait or was it a huge letdown? Do you like the Jungle Inferno Theme with Yeti Park Attractions or nah? What do you think of the changes to casual gameplay? What ingame items or taunts are you looking forward to getting?

Mercenary Park isn't horrible, but it is reminding me of cp_gorge in several ways. The spawns are broken, easily camped and point C is a chokepoint on both sides.

There's also been a bug where the Heavy can get over 10k health in a regular game. Not cool.

The community map selection is pretty good. pl_enclosure (although a tad bugged right now) is probably my favorite out of the set.

Casual is broken again, it's Pyromania 2.0... This is definitely better than MyM was but the launch could have been better. I'm expecting a few bugfix patches over these next few days.

The Dragon's Fury is pretty dang fun, only issue is it's stupidly easy to use right now as everyone is playing Pyro.

... right now as everyone is playing Pyro.
I've seen this Heavy Hack first hand. My Son kept getting killed by the same player over and over with massive health over heal. He screenshotted it once. You can see the Heavy had 31900 some health for the death cam shot. I hope they fix this glitch soon!

Also, EVERYONE IS playing Pyro. It's hard to win a round when no one will be the Medic or the Engie or the Heavy because literally everyone is Pyro.

Thankfully this isn't a hack so much as an oversight with a couple rebalanced items. You can report these users for exploiting if you wish, which may give them a temp matchmaking ban.

The easiest way to do this is to enable mouse movement on the scoreboard, and right click the user in question. A Report option should then be available.

I'm glad they fixed flame particles and airblast but some of the new pyro unlocks really break the flow and balance of the game

I'd wait a bit to see how the Dragon's Fury and such end up working out. Since everybody and their mother is using these weapons things are just an itty bitty teeny tiny bit nuts.

When there's one, maybe 2 pyros on a team I think the weaknesses of these weapons will show.

Initial impressions of the new Pyro gear:

Dragon's Fury: We finally have a flamethrower that can compete with the Degreaser. Damage output and play style is very similar to puff and sting (and also works on enemy Pyros). Not needing the Flare Gun opens up your secondary slot for a shotgun or the...

Gas Passer: I think this has a lot of potential while playing defense on control point and payload maps. You can use it when the enemy is grouped together and cause a lot of burst damage.

Thermal Thruster: It had potential, but the fact that it isn't a passive and doesn't provide fast weapon switch hurts it so much.

Hot Hand: There is no reason to use this (aside from kicks and giggles). If you want speed use the Powerjack.
