quick lotro question

Post by goat » May 26th, 2011, 10:34 pm

a few quick questions for the LOTRO players.
1. is the pvp experience worth while (both while leveling up and endgame)?
2. can you reach max level and get decently geared out with a free account?
3. how many CC members/forum frequenters actively play?

I can't answer question 1, as I hate PvP.

2) You can get to level 50 (out of 65 total, with 2 expansions) for free, but you will have to go from about 33 to 50 on monster grinding alone without buying quest packs or going VIP.

3) AD, myself, QuantumPhyzix, and our friend Jugg3rnaut play pretty regularly.

I would also like to say that although the monster killing is pretty much the only way to level after that 33, Turbine still has great affordable deals and regular sales.

Deeds and extra bounties can give you tons of turbine points and increase your standing with the free peoples in cities, so its pretty easy to at least get LoneLands, which is the funner quest pack.
Having bought Trollshaws, I would say wait till NorthDowns or Evendim.

As for PvP: 1. You do not earn experience from winning, and you dont get a penalty for losing. There are special servers for such PvP so if you want to PvE you dont worry about that at all. Also, you can fight your friends in any server. Just challenge them.

On a side note, as for PvP, you can go around killing free peoples characters in the Etenmorres... or however thats spelled. But you have to have a payed account and also wait till over lvl 10
